About The Position

Airobotics has developed a pilotless automated UAV solution, the first of its kind in the global market. We provide an end-to-end, fully automatic UAV solution for collecting aerial data and gaining insights. Our industrial grade platform enables industries such as mining and oil & gas to access aerial data in a faster, safer, more efficient manner. 

We are seeking a Operations Product Manager to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ.

The Operations Product Manager is is responsible the complete life cycle of data product generation and delivery at Airobotics. As a key member of our product management cross-functional team, the Operations Product Manager brings hands-on experience in remote sensing data capture, processing, analytics, and delivery. In addition, this position will require engagement internally and externally to define technical requirements, manage vendors, and work with teams to dictate pricing. This position will work collaboratively across the organization to help manage and grow the current and future Airobotics product. 

Essential Functions:

  • Creates and manages data product and application “menu” including app specs, turnaround time and required head count
  • Manages the entire product delivery life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Specifies delivery requirements for current and future products including creation and management of a “release for production” mechanism
  • Coordinates closely with R&D professionals to make sure market requirements are met
  • Works closely with sales to successfully launch new capabilities and products
  • Continues to evaluate and evolve our product specifications drive adoption and usage of new capabilities
  • Supports the process of engaging with strategic partners to gather requirements, prioritize needs, and understand business workflows, specifically focusing on the integration of Airobotics technology with leading vendor technology workflows and business models
  • Acts as the voice of the customer internally to ensure customer specifications are met
  • Manages production team (shifts, rosters, turn around) in collaboration with ongoing flight operations
  • Manages global QA specialists and remote sensing technicians
  • Manages the creation of organized, understandable, and effective system and training documentation
  • Works collaboratively with R&D teams to focus automation efforts
  • Works collaboratively with IT teams to ensure consistent data product delivery and minimize cost
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent


Requirements

Education, Licensure or Certification:

  • BA/BS in geographic information systems (GIS) preferred
  • Master’s degree is a plus

Work Experience or Related Experience:

  • Five to seven years of hands-on relevant work experience in technical and operational project management with particular relevance in the fields of remote sensing and GIS
  • Competency in the following areas: Business Analysis, Project Management, Software Lifecycle Management, Data Management and Integration
  • Background in remote sensing from aerial vehicles preferred

  • Ability to effectively lead and influence others, including senior management, peers and vendors
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals
  • Experience writing well-crafted user stories and/or use cases
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to ~ 25% of time)
  • Ability to break down complex problems into actionable steps
  • Ability to work well with remote management and staff
